Washington’s net worth

Washington was born in Mount Vernon, New York on Dec. 28, 1954, to parents Lennis and Denzel Washington Sr.

He attended the Oakland Military Academy in New Windsor, New York before enrolling in Fordham University, where he played basketball and studied drama. After graduating with a degree in a BA in drama and journalism, Washington went to American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He later returned to New York and appeared in several stage productions as well as the made-for-TV movie Wilma. In 1982, he was cast as Dr. Phillip Chandler on the medical drama St. Elsewhere. Following that role, Washington began making appearances on the big screen and has starred in a multitude of blockbusters including Malcolm X, The Pelican Brief, Philadelphia, and Training Day.

He is not only one of the most accomplished and well-known actors in the world but also a director and producer with a hefty net worth of $280 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Washington’s longtime Beverly Hills mega mansion

Washington, who married his wife Pauletta in 1983, once owned a home in Toluca Lake, California. In 1988, he and Pauletta moved into a four-bedroom, five-bathroom home they purchased for $1 million. But when his career really began to take off, they went bigger and bought a mega mansion in Beverly Hills.

The property, located in the gated Beverly Park community, is where Washington and his family still live today. It sits on 2.13 acres and the house has a whopping 28,887 square feet of living space with eight bedrooms and 14 bathrooms inside. The star bought the mansion from Michael Eisner, who used to be the Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company, for just $2.675 million in 1992. Some of its amenities include a huge pool and spa, a tennis court with lights for prime-time play, and a fountain on the grounds.

A few of Washington’s famous neighbors are Eddie Murphy, Sylvester Stallone, and Mark Wahlberg.

The Oscar winner’s NYC abode

But it’s not just Beverly Hills, Washington can also call the Big Apple home today as well since he has owned an abode in Manhattan since 2006.

Washington lives in a luxury building where some other famous stars like Sting and Jeff Gordon reside too. The American Gangster actor bought his unit for $13 million. It has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and is 3,000 square feet.

The condominiums at Central Park West offer a private restaurant, a health center, a showroom, private chefs, an interior courtyard, and a lap pool.
